I am honest-to-goodness surprised LND AU has gotten a lot of positive reviews.

Agreed, the sets were nice.

Agreed, the music was lovely.

But like, I’m not even a huge fan of LND because of what it did to the characters, and then AU just added then Ben!face of hilarity to the mix and such and well.. y’know it really… wasn’t great…

I respect everyone for putting a whole ton of effort forth. I also think Anna’s singing is incredibly amazing. 

But like

I don’t know. Every character is so different and Ben’s faces are the most hilariously odd quirks on the planet and - 

All of this ‘phangirling’ for LND is beyond me. I’ll stick with my original Phantom and listen to LND songs when I feel like it; that’ll be it for me.

I’m sorry I just can’t get over how hilarious these expressions are. XD

This was so cool, I’ll admit. I mean the Phantom’s just creepin’, but it really adds the tension to the scene. Much better than Raoul leaving and the Phantom just entering the room through a door, imo. And when they kiss and he’s just glaring - very suspenseful!

Man, ‘Phantom must’ve just rigged the damn house with two-way mirrors.

I may not love Ben’s singing, but I like what he did with changing the intonation during the verses of ‘The Beauty Underneath.’ Gustave for that matter too, since he did the same thing during his parts.

I dunno, ‘just me.

I really like how he threatened to make Gustave go missing if she didn’t sing; thats the kind of crazy Phantom I was waiting for. And then she reads the aria and there’s this swell of music; unfortunately he’s already gone. I dunno, I just liked how that played out.

Hey, Dear Old Friend time!

Gustave: “Mother I had this horrible dream of someone strange and mad! Seizing me and tormenting me!”

Christine: “Gustave, its alright…”

Phantom: “WAIT CHRISTINE WHAT THE HELL?!”

So Christine hears the eerily familiar tune (awesome, I like it) and its dying down and she’s all worried and then BAM BEN LEWIS

I’m sorry; I laughed WAY too hard at that blast of music and the Phantom’s entrance. Its just something about it that makes me burst out laughing. XD Like you barely hear anything and then its this blast of music and he enters through a mirror.

‘BAM; what’s happening, gurl?’

‘Damn. Thought I got rid of those weird two-way/entryway mirrors.’

Its nice to see that Madame and Meg Giry are singing about their past with Christine almost longingly; I hope this makes Dear Old Friends more heartfelt! c’:

Only for You was really awesome; costumes and the set was great. I don’t remember it being so involved in the London production.
