Rewatching bits of the beginning of Xenoblade

-slight spoilers ahead? Spoilers for Fiora anyways-

So like this is near the beginning of the game. The Monado goes bloody haywire and just nearly cuts Fiora while slicing up some machinery in the process. 

Since we know the Monado is basically douchelord Zanza, it makes me wonder: did the Monado intentionally attack Fiora? Because we know she becomes the vessel for Lady Meyneth later on, and the Monado can offer visions of the future. Now, given, I haven’t beaten the game totally so I don’t 100% know Zanza’s and Meyneth’s relationship, but what if he was trying to kill her early, hinting that she would become the vessel? Hell, maybe he saw a future where she was controlled entirely and wanted to immediately get to that (but of course, Fiora’s free will and Shulk badassery prevails and the future is changed).

It’s just really interesting since he didn’t aim to kill Reyn, and obviously not Shulk (I’d laugh so much): he aimed to slice Fiora.

I don’t know whether watching AO episode 16 at 2 in the morning either heightened the effect of my reaction over the episode or made my already sleep-deprived brain want to mentally just suffer sudden death.

Either way, there were rainbows and certain nostalgic sound effects, and it was super cool.

Sitting here and pretending that this is the curtain call for the first time Erik and Christine performed onstage together and the crowd is just freaking out because Erik’s voice is like audible chocolate, and Christine is so excited about it, and Erik’s just like, “You are so adorable I honestly can’t focus on anything else right now. Where are we, anyway?”

Because Erik and Christine are totally real people.

[Episode 28: Memento Mori]

‘Always really liked this scene. To this day I sort of wish there was a kiss between Holland and Talho when Holland was, well, conscious; but at the same time, it wasn’t entirely needed to prove that their loving partnership was great.

This scene was just one of the scenes where Talho’s genuine worry for Holland’s safety seeped through: and at a time when he was unconscious. They both seemed pretty distant from one another at this time to bring their problems to one another, but as the series progressed and they matured as proper adults, they began to support each other more openly. I really love the development Holland and Talho went through in the TV series.

I’m staring at the Iron Giant mini print of AMAZINGNESS on my wall right now and just getting reminded of one of my favorite Convention memories.

Weeks prior to Fan Expo, I saw this phenomenal painting of the Iron Giant on an Iron Giant Tumblr Fan Blog. I hadn’t really seen much fan art for the movie, but this was something special. It’s atmosphere was sort of old-fashioned, like an old sepia photograph of sorts, with the Giant standing in a small and what looked like a decaying or bombed city while he held Hogarth in his hands.

Anyways I looked at it and basically thought it was the best piece of Iron Giant fan art my eyes ever beheld. Instant reblog, of course.

Weeks later, Fan Expo happens. I’m walking around at the Artist’s Alley, mainly looking for anything related to anime and vidjagames of course, and I walk up to this table at the end of an isle. The table had an artbook, and was surrounded by prints of painted nature scenes. They were all gorgeous, actually (to be honest I’m still a bit upset with myself that I didn’t buy the artbook of the guys’ works). The guy sat there leafing through some papers as I looked around his booth, and I saw the very same Iron Giant print that I’d reblogged on Tumblr.

Right in front of my eyes.

I felt a little stupid saying, ‘Excuse me, you’re the artist who painted this, right?’ (BECAUSE GEE WHO ELSE WOULD IT BE //smacks forehead) but when he nodded and confirmed it, it was THE best feeling ever. Totally an instant buy. I’m so glad I actually met the artist too waaaaahhh

I love it when you see something online and then suddenly you see it at a Convention or something. I mean gosh, as far as I knew when I first saw it on Tumblr, it could’ve been like a 10 year-old piece of fan art painted by some guy from Sweden!

They are super cute and super amazing!! They evolve as a couple with such strong emotions.

I let out the biggest sigh of relief when Ao 06 was finished: since the last episode bombed so bad to me, I was a little worried about this one.

And then y’know they pulled the thing with Bruno (/internally sobs a little),

introduced Truth (who intrigues me HUGELY),

and actually had Nirvash fight without guns but with ELECTRIC FISTS and LAZERS. LIKE IT SHOULD BE (although I was like ‘Ooh alright, electric fists now eh? =o xD)

In any case, I’m pretty excited for Episode 7 and I’m incredibly thankful they left the fanservice behind. Episode 6 was such an improvement in my eyes.

Let’s hope it stays this way.
