Oh here comes the Final Lair.

Alright. I’m gonna get through this without tearing up at least a little. I’M GONNA DO IT.

Little Phantom 25th Things

I’m watching it again (third time this week, what else is new?) and I’ve noticed this before but I wasn’t really sure what to make of it until now. Its really small, but a bit specific to not wonder about.

Anyways basically when the Phantom main theme is being sung by Christine and the Phantom, at the point where they sing, In all your fantasties, you always knew that man and mystery - were both in you, ‘interesting thing: when Sierra sings,  - were both in you, Ramin is staring at her intently and does this short little nod. He does this sort of nod a lot during the show (or a quick shake of the head; its a Phantom idiosyncrasy he made in order to, I assume, make the Phantom seem so blinded by his desires that he’s sure of things. A quick nod means that he’s right, of course. A quick shake would be like ‘No, you’re lying and I won’t accept it’ (he does that a few times during Final Lair).

Anyways, back to the point at hand. He does this small nod when Christine sings this line, and its this line that defines the Phantom as both a man and mysterious and powerful creature (man and mystery). When he nods at that point, if this is what he intended, it feels like he’s reassuring himself that he at last has Christine within his grasp. She had come down with him to his Lair, if through a little force, and she knows that he is both an Angel and a man. He believes she considers him both a God she cannot resist and merely a man she could come to understand and love. She is his, and he is certain of that because he is so blinded.

All that from a small nod of the head; I love interpreting stuff like this. All these different Phantoms bring something different to the table with each show; its very interesting!

OhGod the Final Lair. I’m not even gonna say much on this one because I pretty much just end up blubbering like an emotional idiot.

So, I’ll just say its lovely and heart-wrenching.

Also angry!Raoul, jesusmary. XD

I guess that pretty much ends the liveblog; I enjoyed watching this twice in one day. <3

Past the Point of no Return time!

I think this GIF is necessary.

Its still my favorite rendition of Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again (minus the staging though, as it was simply the video background. But singing-wise, definitely my favorite).

Bravo, Sierra.

Also the way in which they re-edited Wandering Child, especially when the Phantom throws forth the fireballs, is EXCELLENT.

“Christine you don’t have to, they can’t make you.”

“Ok thank Go-“

“Wait, no play the main role. Brilliant!”

I mean I understand his reasoning but his moods are so quick to change, pff.

OH ITS COMING UP

ENTER THE PHANTOM ONCE MORE

Red Death up in this shindig.

I adore Christine’s dress in Masquerade; always have, always will.

May I also say that the whole Masquerade scene is simply gorgeous on Blu-Ray.

Oh man.

Oh man here it comes. All I Ask of You Reprise.

Dear Ramin,

Also this US version included two bits of Ramin covering his ears and saying ‘No’; it muted his third and final ‘No’, but he still said the heartbreaking, ‘No.’

I’m not sure if its much different in the UK version, but I just heard that they muted it completely. Just saying in the US version they only muted one ‘No’ instead of all 3.

I’m happy they did that anyways. I’d be happier if they didn’t mute it at all but *shrugs*

DAMN IT RAMIN STOP BREAKING MY HEART AS THE PHANTOM.

STOP IT NOW.

EARL CARPENTER WAS BAD ENOUGH.

Here’s the upcoming adorable All I Ask of You scene.

Raoul and Christine look so gosh dang OVERJOYED.

I just really love this scene.

Oh my God THEIR FACES

Gorgeous.

LOOK AT THE GUY ON THE LEFT, JUST LOOK AT THAT SMIRK. He doesn’t give two hoots about anything.

I love the little musical trio that Pianji, Firmin and Andre make in Prima Donna; so amusing to see them bop up and down for a moment. xD

Notes!

Gotta love it. Gareth Snook, your expressions are wonderful.

Stranger Than You Dreamt It Scene

Its at this part.

“Who buuuuurns in hell.”

Yep.

When Christine is leaning against the Phantom with her eyes closed in Music of the Night, she slowly reaches up to touch his mask but he firmly grasps her arm in order to stop her. Still singing, he stares at his grip on her arm with a surprised (almost incredulous) expression, quickly lets go and takes hold of her hand gently instead.

So sweet and pretty sad. ;;
